Hi, I'm Yoomi — a Senior Product Designer based in California Bay Area with 10+ years leading the simplification and integration of complex enterprise systems, contributing conversational AI and dashboard solutions that streamline user workflows and save daily operational time.

Driven by my ENFJ personality, empathy is at the core of everything I do. I love deeply understanding users to uncover their true needs, and nothing gives me a greater sense of accomplishment than seeing them satisfied with the final product. What keeps me passionate about design is the thrill of transforming ambiguity into clarity through the right solutions. I also genuinely enjoy the collaborative process; navigating complex stakeholder environments and aligning cross-functional teams to turn raw ideas into a shared, high-impact solution is incredibly rewarding. My ability to deliver on this is validated by being a finalist in top 10 design hackathons and holding 9 patents.

To keep my UX design sharp and relevant, I have never stopped learning over the past decade, and I love stepping out of my comfort zone to try new things. During my time in Austin, I was highly active in the community as a board member for UXPA Austin, where I helped host design meetups, attended book clubs, and engaged in various networking initiatives. Since moving to the Bay Area, I have continued this momentum as an active member of the Design Group within K-Group, attending meetups to keep my finger on the pulse of the latest industry news and trends.

Outside of work, driven by a strong desire to give back to society, I have volunteered my UX expertise at Take Root, an organization dedicated to helping Korean women resettle abroad. Additionally, out of a deep interest in children's education, I volunteer annually at my child’s school, introducing UX design to young students through engaging, age-appropriate presentations.

Beyond my professional life, I enjoy a wide variety of hobbies. I love sewing and making things like custom sofa covers, laptop sleeves, and drawstring pouches with my sewing machine, as well as crocheting dish scrubbies to gift to my friends. I also have a huge soft spot for collecting small, cute things; I’m incredibly passionate about collecting dolls, to the point where I have a dedicated display cabinet in the corner of my room filled with Sylvanian Families figures and dollhouses.

And lastly, the most precious thing that grounds and supports everything I do is my family. I love spending time with my husband and our two children, and they inspire me to find more efficient ways to work so we can share even more moments together. Far from being a distraction, they are the ultimate driving force that motivates me to work faster and smarter.
